We’re proud to announce that one of our local authority partners, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, has been selected as a finalist at the MJ Achievement Awards for its adoption of the Invision360 EHCP audit tool.

As one of our earliest partners, Stockton has fully embraced Invision360 to carry out what Ofsted observes as a “root-and-branch rebuild” of its EHCP auditing process for children and young people.

Digital Transformation finalist

Named as a Digital Transformation finalist, judges learned how the council has seen remarkable improvements in the quality of children’s EHC plans.

As of the end of November 2022 (18 months of using Invision360), the percentage of new EHCPs audited as ‘good’ had increased from 14.7% to 87.6%, with ‘inadequate’ plans having dropped from 29.4% to 1.7%.

Today, those figures are even more impressive as the council continues its transformation journey.

Within the award submission, Head of SEND and Inclusion, Joanne Mills, discusses how Invision360 has removed objectivity from EHCP auditing, created a renewed sense of shared ownership amongst partners, and, most importantly, led to a huge improvement in the quality of EHCPs for children and young people.

Commenting on the transformation journey and what making the finals means, Joanne says:

“It is hugely exciting to be shortlisted for a Municipal Journal Achievement Award!

“Being recognised for the work we have been doing in Stockton-on-Tees using digital technologies to enable us to improve the quality of our Education Health and Care Plans is very humbling but very reflective of the passion the whole SEND and Inclusion Service has for children and young people.

“Nothing is more important in our work than improving the experience our children and young people with Special Educational Needs have. They deserve quality, and the innovation that Invision360 has given us has enabled us to improve all our plans and provide specific CPD for our teams and stakeholders.

“It has allowed us to lift our heads and look across the system for where improvements are needed. It has been a game-changer.

“Everyone involved (in any way!) deserves the accolade of this appreciation, especially our parent carer forum who have been with us all the way!

“Our improvement journey continues 'good' is never enough when we can now aim for outstanding!”

Sharing Joanne’s delight, Phil Stock, CEO and Founder of Invision360 adds:

“We are thrilled that Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has been acknowledged for their incredible SEND improvement work. As early adopters of Invision360 and innovation partners, Joanne and her team have played a pivotal role in shaping the Invision360 EHCP audit tool.

“We must say, we cannot wait to join Joanne at the next stage of the judging process as we officially present the impact Invision360 is having to a panel of judges in April. By then, there will be even further developments, as we demonstrate sustained improvements in the quality of EHCPs and importantly the positive outcomes for children / young people with SEND.”

It's our second year of celebrating one of our clients reaching the MJ Achievement Awards finals. We cannot wait to celebrate with Joanne at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza awards ceremony on 23 June 2023. Wish us luck!
