Following the March 2023 SEND and Alternative Provision Improvement Plan announcement, the landscape of special educational needs support is set for significant change. Join us for this webinar as we examine the government's vision for standardised Education, Health, and Care Plans and what this means for SEND provision nationwide.

In this webinar we explore the potential benefits and challenges of moving to a standardised EHCP template either nationally or regionally.  Along with two speaker sessions, we'll be hosting an interactive session where you can contribute your thoughts and feedback.

Your expert speakers

Our panel brings together leading voices in SEND policy, practice, and advocacy to provide balanced perspectives on this critical development in special educational needs provision.

Dr André Imich OBE

Andre held the position of DfE SEN and Disability Professional Adviser for 14 years. This has involved providing advice to ministers and DfE policy leads across the department on all matters relating to identification, support, and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEN and disability. He worked closely with local authorities, parent carer groups, voluntary sector, health, and schools and colleges to achieve policy goals. In 2022, he was awarded an OBE for services to children and young people.

Prior to this position, André held a range of SEND leadership and professional posts in the National Strategies and local government, and has been an educational psychologist and a primary and secondary school teacher.

Abigail Hawkins

Abigail Hawkins has worked in education for more than three decades, both as a teacher and as a SENCO. She is widely regarded as an expert on provision mapping and SEND practice, supporting schools nationally to improve their systems and outcomes for pupils with additional needs. Through her work as the founder of SENsible SENCO CIC and SENDCO Solutions, she has combined practical classroom knowledge with strategic insight, helping leaders, teachers, and families navigate the complex world of SEND with clarity and pragmatism. She is also a regular speaker and trainer, committed to making policy and paperwork work better for children and those who support them.
