We’re absolutely delighted to announce that Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council (KMBC) has been awarded an iESE Certificate of Excellence (COE) for implementing the Invision360 EHCP Audit Tool and the impact it has had on the improved quality of EHCPs.

If you are not familiar with them, the iESE Public Transformation Awards, now in their 13th year, welcome nominations from hundreds of local authorities across the UK. This year was certainly no exception, with there being more than 300 entries. So, for our partnership to receive COE Winner status is a fantastic achievement. But, more importantly, it’s a nod to the excellent work being undertaken at KMBC to improve EHC planning for children and young people.

In iESE’s words, the certificate recognises the “exemplary standard of work” being undertaken by KMBC.

Within the award submission, Mike spoke about the many benefits of introducing Invision360. He explained how the council is using Invision360 to improve practice, create a more joined-up approach to EHC planning and most importantly improving outcomes for C/YP with SEND.

The judges learned how Mike and his team have made sustained improvements in the quality of EHC plans. One of the most significant improvements has been with regards auditing the health and social care sections of the plan. Before introducing Invision360, just 31% of plans had sufficient health or social care sections audited as ‘Good’, however just 12 months in, this percentage now stands at 86%.

Commenting on what being a COE Winner means, Mike says:

“It’s fantastic news to be recognised in this way. Invision360 is very much part of our future as we continue to drill down into each service to identify where improvements can be made in EHC planning.”

Phil Stock, Managing Director of Invision360, who has been working closely with Mike from the very beginning, said:

“We’re thrilled for KMBC, who have done a fantastic job at embedding Invision360 in their local area. It’s amazing to see Invision360 make such a big difference in such a short amount of time. We couldn’t be more delighted for Mike and the team.

“Receiving such high praise shows just how far Invision360 EHCP Audit Tool has come along since its initial development. More than this, though, it highlights the value of collaboration. The tool is continually being shaped by the experience of our local authority partners, meaning it is a truly sustainable, long-term solution to a national problem.

“We’re very much looking forward to celebrating with the other COE winners from across the country at the online event this Spring. We can’t wait to hear their stories and share ours!”
