Enhanced features for 2025

We've listened to feedback from local authorities and SEND professionals to deliver significant enhancements to our EHCP Quality Assurance module. Here's what's new:

Clearer grading system

We've moved away from Ofsted terminology to introduce metal gradings: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Significant Gap. This fresh approach provides clarity while maintaining rigorous quality standards that inspectors recognise.

We have a focus group of nine Local Authorities  that we meet with regularly to continuously evolve and improve the audit module,  filtering the feedback we receive from all local authorities using the software. The focus group indicated that feedback we had received to move away from traditional Ofsted gradings would be a positive transition and thus this change was made.

Streamlined criteria for better consistency

Each EHCP section is now assessed against one set of criteria instead of four, dramatically improving usability and reducing audit time. Key improvements include:

  • 'N/A' options for Health and Social Care sections when no advice is present
  • Greater flexibility for Sections I and J, including draft plan options
  • Highlighted PfA criteria with automatic 'Significant Gap' grading when Preparation for Adulthood provision isn't met in key sections

More nuanced assessments

The new 'Partially Met' option allows auditors to capture evidence that shows progress toward meeting criteria, reducing inconsistency between auditors while providing more accurate quality insights. Criteria now open and close dynamically based on your selections, reducing screen overload and improving the audit experience.

Statutory compliance at your fingertips

New compliance metrics show percentage-based adherence to 'must' requirements from the SEND Code of Practice. These appear throughout the module in audit views, moderation screens, and reporting dashboards helping you quickly identify where statutory requirements are or aren't being met. Remember: 100% compliance means minimum legal standards are met, not that sections are not of high quality.

Capture voices effortlessly

Integrated experiential feedback surveys for children, young people, and parents/carers allow you to gather experiential data following EHCP development. The reporting dashboard transforms this feedback into evidence of good practice and improvements a simple, low-demand process that yields rich insights for inspection readiness.

Enhanced reporting power

New features include:

  • Compliance dashboards showing statutory adherence over time
  • Section-by-section progress tracking to identify trends
  • Custom report builder with enhanced visuals, legends, numerical values, and plan IDs
  • Experiential data analysis alongside quality and compliance metrics

Good practice built in

Throughout the audit process, you'll find 'what does good look like' examples and a comprehensive good practice checklist, ensuring quality benchmarks are clear and achievable.

Single sign on

Admin users can activate single sign on using the athnticator app for improved user experience and and stronger security.

These enhancements work together to provide local authorities with a more intuitive, flexible, and powerful tool for EHCP quality assurance module helping you demonstrate impact, meet statutory requirements, and be inspection-ready at all times.
