Sam is a seasoned SEN Manager with 18 years of experience in SEND. She's been a key player in the London Borough of Merton and is currently leading the charge in transforming the SEND service. Sam will share how she has developed the moderation process for auditing annual reviews and how the findings from this moderation results inform training and skill development for the SEND team.
With 30 years in education and SEND, Joanne has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs. She spent 20 years as a secondary school SENCO before moving into local authority leadership, where she spearheaded service transformations, championed co-production, and led award-winning digital transformation in EHCP processes.
Now running her own SEND consultancy, Joanne works with schools, trusts, local authorities, and charities to drive positive change across the sector. She is Level 7 qualified in psychometric assessment and a British Psychological Society member. Passionate about inclusion and collaboration, Joanne is committed to making SEND processes more effective, transparent, and child- centred.
